Rowan Virgo
is a filmmaker based in Bristol, who specialises in live performance photography & videography. His ongoing work as a performing circus artist has given him a unique talent for depicting the human body in motion.
Rowan has had an interest in making films since has was very young, shooting hours of video and hundreds of frames of stop motion animation when his father bought his first digital camera. Then at age 10 he decided to spend all of his savings on his very own digital camcorder.
During his study at Circomedia Rowan developed a specialisation in filming circus performance, creating circus showreels and depicting the human body in motion.
Rowan has no formal education in film or photography and has instead learnt what he knows from the internet, friends and his own experience.
As well as working as a photographer and cinematographer Rowan has a degree in Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre. He performs Duo Acrobatics and Flying Trapeze.
Rowan has done work for clients such as Circomedia, Cirque Bijou, Pangottic, Above and Beyond, Stumble Dance circus, Avant Garde Dance, Full Tilt Aerial, Movement method, Shakedown, Unstable King, Jobot 2000 and Bristol Side Quest as well as many more individual performers and artists.
